High school is loud – Life, academics, sports, jobs, social media. Roots gives you a week to breathe, find your people, and build habits that make real life better. We keep Ox Lake small on purpose so you’re known by name, not lost in the crowd. Each day we practice three essentials that campers tell us they actually need: community-mindedness, resilience, and gratitude – short rhythms woven into camp life.
Why take a week?
-
Connection beats isolation. Belonging isn’t a nice-to-have – it’s how we grow. When you’re known and needed, confidence rises and anxiety eases.
-
Faith you can use. Prayer, Bible study, and worship that make space for honest questions – and for trying faith in real conversations and decisions.
-
Skills that travel. The same habits you build here – showing up for others, bouncing back, saying thanks – translate to school, work, church, and home.
What it looks like
-
Faith that’s lived: daily Bible study, simple prayer practices, evening worship.
-
Community that sticks: cabin time, campfire, canteen, shared leadership.
-
Play with purpose: field games, low-element challenge initiatives, laser tag, hammocks, and more.
What you take home
-
Close friends. Not just more contacts – actual people you can count on.
-
Steadier faith. Practices you can keep (two minutes a day, no app required).
-
Real-world tools. Show up for your people. Handle stress better. Notice good and say thanks.
No prior camp experience needed – just a willingness to try, listen, and look out for each other.
Check-in Sunday 3:00 to 4:30 pm at Ox Lake.
Closing worship is on Friday at 11:00 am. Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend.
