What a Wonder-Filled Day We Have Had!
On this final full day of camp, and after our late night, we had the chance to sleep in a little longer. Once we got the day started, we made our way to breakfast. We enjoyed a cereal bar and blueberry muffins. When we were done with breakfast, we headed to chapel for worship. In chapel, we learned about our daily theme: Wonder of Community. We took a deeper dive into that theme during Bible study. We read about the Early Church and explored the question, Who Are We?
With Bible study finished, it was time for lunch. Today we hade some yummy Italian dunkers and meatballs. After our delicious lunch, we headed back to our cabins for some quiet time.
When quiet time was over, we had one final free time! Once again, the beach, canteen, Art Shop, and Wapo Shoppo were all open. The winds finally calmed down, so we were able to go out on the boats. We also held our basketball tournament, which was a blast!
After free time, we all rushed back to our cabins to get ready for banquet. This year, our banquet took us around the world. For our banquet dinner we had some amazing pulled pork and mac and cheese.
After banquet, we gathered for a special EPIC Awards ceremony. We once again recognized many different campers doing amazing work in our community. Plus, all week long, a mysterious mole has been creating havoc around camp—and tonight, we finally found out who it was!
We then transitioned into the Wapo County Fair. This camp favorite gives campers the chance to visit different stations and enjoy special activities. Some of the fun stations included shaving cream, nail painting, face painting, hair tinsel, and caricatures.
At Camp Wapo, we love a classic game of dodgeball where all the campers take on the counselors. It was so much fun to play together before getting ready for campfire. Tonight’s campfire was a little different because it included prayer stations. These stations gave campers a chance to reflect on their faith and their week here at camp.
Now we’re off to devotions and one last night of sleep here at camp.
We have had such an incredible week and can’t believe we’re nearing the end. We hope everyone leaves knowing they are deeply loved by us and, even more importantly, by God.
We are so excited for one final day here at camp!
Goodnight!
