It’s Thursday!
We can’t believe we’ve made it to the last full day of camp! We kicked off the morning with a little extra rest before enjoying a late breakfast of cereal and muffins. After breakfast, we made our way to Crossfire for chapel.
Today’s theme was the Wonder of Community. During Bible study, we explored the question, “Who Are We?” as we read about the Early Church and what it means to live in community with one another. Before long, it was time to gather for a delicious lunch of Italian dunkers and meatballs.
After lunch, everyone returned to their cabins for some quiet time to recharge before another exciting afternoon.
Free time was packed with all the camp favorites! Campers spent time at the beach, Canteen, and Art Shop, while others competed in an exciting basketball tournament.
As the afternoon came to a close, everyone headed back to their cabins to get dressed for banquet. This year’s banquet took us on an adventure around the world while we enjoyed a delicious meal of pulled pork and mac and cheese.
Following banquet, we gathered for a special EPIC Awards celebration, where we recognized campers who made a positive impact on our community throughout the week. We also solved one of the biggest mysteries of camp! After a week of playful mischief from our mysterious mole, the culprit was finally revealed.
The fun didn’t stop there! Next up was the Wapo County Fair, one of everyone’s favorite camp traditions. Campers visited a variety of stations featuring shaving cream fun, nail painting, face painting, hair tinsel, caricatures, and more.
No Thursday would be complete without campers taking on the counselors in an epic game of dodgeball! Afterward, we made our way to campfire. Tonight’s campfire looked a little different as campers moved through prayer stations, taking time to reflect on their faith, their friendships, and everything they experienced throughout the week.
Now we’re heading back to our cabins for devotions and one final night of sleep at camp.
What an incredible week it has been! We hope every camper leaves knowing they are valued, encouraged, and deeply loved—not only by all of us here at camp, but even more importantly, by God.
We’re looking forward to making the most of our final day together.
Goodnight!
