Grettings from Camp Wapo,

We have had great morning here that started with the best suprise of sleeping in. After getting a little bit more sleep we headed to breakfast where we had a delicious ceral bar and muffins. We then went to tidy up our cabins before heading up to chapel. We had a blast worshiping together inside and learning about The Wonder of Community. In bible study we looked more into that with the question of Who are We? and the story of The Early Church. We then gathered for lunch where we enjoyed some yummy Italian dunkers.

We have spent most of the morning inside and wanted to give you a few quick updates related to the fires in the Boundary Waters and poor air quality. Due to the poor outdoor air quality in Amery this week, our staff is shifting many activities indoors to keep campers healthy and comfortable.
The good news? Camp staff are experts at making the most of every situation! The indoor spaces are filled with the sounds of games, crafts, music, skits, laughter, and plenty of creative fun. Worship, Bible study, and community building are carrying on as usual.
Wilderness Canoe Base has suspended all camp programs at this time due to the wildfires in the Boundary Waters. Our staff is actively following established fire safety protocols as our end of the Gunflint Trail remains in Cook County’s SET stage of its Ready, Set, Go evacuation process. The safety and well-being of our campers, guests, and staff remains our highest priority.
With all that said, we still have so many fun things to do here at camp!
