Happy Thursday!
We can’t believe it’s the last full day of camp! We had to get started right away—but first, we had the chance to get a little extra sleep as we enjoyed a late breakfast of cereal and muffins. Once we finished, we traveled to Crossfire for chapel.
Today, we focused on The Wonder of Community. In Bible study, we read about the Early Church and explored the question, “Who Are We?” Later, we enjoyed a delicious lunch of Italian dunkers and meatballs.
After lunch, we transitioned into quiet time to get ready for the rest of our day.
Our afternoon started with free time, featuring all the usual favorites: the beach, canteen, and Art Shop. Campers also had the opportunity to compete in a basketball tournament, which was super fun!
After a while, we journeyed back to our cabins to get ready for banquet. This year, we departed from camp and traveled around the world while enjoying some delicious pulled pork and mac and cheese.
After banquet, we gathered for a special EPIC Awards ceremony. We once again recognized many campers for the amazing ways they contributed to our community. Plus, all week long, a mysterious mole had been creating havoc around camp—and tonight, we finally found out who it was!
We then transitioned to the Wapo County Fair. This camp favorite gave campers the chance to visit different stations and enjoy special activities. Some of the fun stations included shaving cream, nail painting, face painting, hair tinsel, and caricatures.
At Camp Wapo, we love a classic game of dodgeball where all the campers take on the counselors. It was so much fun to play together before getting ready for campfire. Tonight’s campfire was a little different because it included prayer stations. These stations gave campers a chance to reflect on their faith and their week here at camp.
Now we’re off to cabin devotions and one last night of sleep here at camp.
We have had such an incredible week and can’t believe we’re nearing the end. We hope everyone leaves knowing they are deeply loved by us and, even more importantly, by God.
We are so excited for one final day here at camp!
Goodnight!
