Bubbl’r Buddies

It was a great first full day at Camp Wapo! We started our morning off with some breakfast to fuel up for our day. Worshiping in the chapel energized us even more. We sang songs like “Always” and “I Thank God” – which are both new tunes to Camp Wapo this summer! Then, it was time for our Monday bible study, which was themed “Love Always.” We read the story of Lydia, an ordinary woman who was shown God’s love and then showed God’s love to others.

It was a beautiful day for field games! We played Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge. Did you know this Camp Wapo classic has been played here since the 90’s? It’s certainly stuck around for a reason – we have so much fun playing it!

After lunch, we went down to the waterfront for our swim test. Following that, the remainder of our afternoon was free time! There is so much to do. Today campers could make bracelets at the art shop, play gaga, basketball, or airsquare, or get some goodies from the canteen. It’s so fun to get Bubbl’r with our buddies!

It rained a bit during dinner, so we ate inside instead of at the picnic tables. Then, we headed up to Crossfire Chapel to play Pictionary Relay. The winning teams got points for the Wapo Olympics! Cabin groups raced to complete as many drawings as they could. Except to find out their next word, the artist needed to find the person with the clipboard who moved around and hid throughout the game.

Of course we ALWAYS end our day with worship. We had an indoor “campfire” on the ramp in commons. Then, we moved up to Crossfire Chapel for a more reflective time during Drawn to the Word. Our guest artist, Paul Oman, paints a biblical scene while counselors share musical talents. Then, it is time for devos and off to bed. We can’t wait for even more fun tomorrow!
