Bracelets and Byes
It has been a great morning of GIFT camp! We started our morning out with some delicious chicken and waffles. We said the Windy grace together before we ate and enjoyed some conversation.
It was nice outside so families gathered at the picnic tables for our intergenerational bible study. Today’s theme was “Pray Always.” We read the Lord’s prayer together and did some bible journaling on our printouts of it. We talked about our memories of prayer, what some things we can pray for are, and why it is important to pray. We even watched a skit that showed us how prayer is a superpower!
After that, we made some prayer bracelets. Each color represented something to pray for. Red was our families, orange was our friends, yellow was happiness, green was nature, blue was health, and purple was provisions like food and safety. Some used different color combinations of beads and came up with their own meaning – like pink beads for love! When we look at our bracelets we’ll remember to pray for all these things and more!
Before we departed, we gathered for some delicious lunch and a closing worship. We sang songs like “Dance With Me” and – our crowd favorite – “Shake Another Hand!”
Then, we said goodbye to a lot of our families. Some are staying for our second session as well. We can’t wait for all those families to join us throughout this afternoon!
