God is Great!

God gave us a great sunny day with loads of fun. The day began with a delicious pancake breakfast then we went to chapel. Huge grins could be seen all throughout the chapel as our incredible counselors prayed with us, danced goofy, and sang some beautiful songs. This summer, Isaiah 40:25–31 is our theme scripture, and we learned a lot about it in Bible study today.

The kids were able to play Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge to wrap up the morning. Every week, we like playing this camp classic with the campers; the kids enjoyed racing about in the sunshine. We had a chance to go swimming in the afternoon, which felt wonderful in the heat. This summer, we added a new water feature that all the kids have enjoyed. Today, several kids were making beady pals and string bracelets in the art shop. Our campers participated in a scavenger hunt with their cabin after free time and dinner, where they were requested to complete some silly tasks in order to receive a hint on where to go for their next task. Getting all the letters to form a word was the aim of this scavenger hunt.

This summer, Monday Night Live has been introduced to camp Wapo. During this time, campers and certain staff can participate in crazy skits and do silly things for their friends. After Monday night live, we had the opportunity to play some Gaga with our cabin and get some snacks from the canteen. All of the campers were thrilled when we finally had a campfire since it meant it was almost time for devos. Devos is how we end our day at Wapo. Some cabins participated in the pop tab devo while others participated in the affirmation devo. We can’t wait for what tomorrow will bring.
