WCB Wins Big at Gunflint Canoe Races
We are proud to report that the Wilderness Canoe Base staff took the coveted second place title at the annual Gunflint Canoe Races last week! We engaged in the many Boundary Waters specific sporting events including, but not limited to, gunnel pumping, solo canoe racing, long distance races and much more! All of these Gunflint specialties brought us just shy of the Trail Cup, but we will be gunneling for the prime spot next summer!
Wilderness Canoe Base came together to represent our corner of the Gunflint Trail and our teamwork paid off! Not only did we cheer until our voices were sore, but we also made countless prized memories to last us a lifetime, or at least until next summer. All of the funds made at the Gunflint Canoe Races go to serving and supporting the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department, and making sure that everyone, no matter the emergency, can be reached along the Gunflint Trail.
Thank you to everyone who made the Gunflint Canoe Races Possible! We will wear our birchbark medals with pride!
