Ready for Ox Roots

Sunday, July 7

Sunday at Ox was beautiful as ALWAYS, the perfect weather, energized campers and excited staff! Campers enjoyed getting to know each other through some fun ice breaker games and their first community meal. The smiles on their faces were apparent when they saw their favorite canteen sodas and snacks and played cards and spikeball while the sun set. Campfire was our first opportunity to worship together and the campers recalled songs they had sang from past summers and the sounds of summer rang through the wilderness of Ox. Here’s to an unforgettable week of growth in our faith and community!

Monday, July 8

Monday morning campers woke up to the smell of sausage and pancakes, yum… Michael, Marissa and Grant ALWAYS are cooking something delish for our campers! After Chapel this morning, we headed over to Wapo for some beach time and a cookout. Campers loved reminiscing on their time at Wapo while enjoying the perfect weather for swimming. When we got back to Ox we learned about our theme “Love Always” and the Agape love, love without conditions, that God has for us. We talked about how hard it is sometimes to love everyone as Jesus calls us to. After some time for reflection, we enjoyed hammocking, card games and spikeball before our dinner of tacos and chocolate pudding (a camper favorite). For field games today we had cabins challenge each other in a variety of events and they had a blast! Campfire brought some beautiful singing so loud, possibly in a futile attempt to keep the mosquitoes away, and definitely to praise Jesus. After our awesome worship session we had a dutch oven night snack that made all the campers want seconds, before heading off to do devotions and get some much needed rest!

Note:

Please bear with us as we are having some technical difficulties with our camera. Our photos might be few and far between but campers are having a blast!!
