Canoeing Community
Wednesday, July 10
Wowza its already Wednesday?! Camp has flown by this week and the campers are learning lots about their faith and their community here at camp!
Today started with eggs, oranges, french toast, and the French Toast Grace (ask your camper about it, it’s truly a masterpiece!). The songs we worshiped with in Chapel had us singing while we canoed down the Saint Croix River today. We stopped for some lunch on a sandbar, and had Bible Study near the falls in Osceola – a holy experience to say the least. Being in nature has made us all feel closer to God. Today’s theme was “Forgive Always” where we learned about Joseph forgiving his brothers after they threw him in the lion’s den. We all agreed that if he could forgive his brother, we should be able to forgive each other for much smaller things.
We had gyros for dinner, ALWAYS a camper favorite, and played an amazing round of “Skittles” in the dark! Campers try to score points by sneaking through the dark with Skittles, trying to avoid counselors that make them eat their Skittles – whichever group has the most Skittles at the end, wins. They absolutely loved it!
