Every Move We Make, We Make in You
Every Move We Make, We Make in You
The day has come when we send our Seeds campers back home to spread the love of God. Because, if you did not know, the point of coming to Wapo is to leave Wapo to share the gospel! But, before we said our tearful goodbyes, we were able to fit in a Bible study, Mighty Mighty, TWO worships, and some delicious breakfast pizzas and corndogs.
And with the rain holding off, we were able to do Bible study and closing worship outside (thanks weather coordinator!). In today’s Bible study, Jesus filled the nets of his fishermen-disciples and sent them out into the world to be fishers of people. In that way, Christ’s disciples are like our campers; they’re going home filled with the spirit, ready to share it with everybody they meet. Who knows? Maybe your kids will be able to teach you something new. We will miss them so much!
Ending the Weekend with a SPLASH
Ending the Weekend with a SPLASH
Our Seeds campers finished their second day at camp with a SPLASH! After lunch, our campers got to experience all of what Wapo has to offer. They had some super-duper fun beach time where the campers got to splash their counselors into oblivion and tug-o-war-challenge each other. The rest of our jam-packed day consisted of: eating yummy snacks at the canteen, slippin’-and-slidin’ to our hearts’ content, and charging into enemy territory during Mighty Mighty. We wrapped the day all up with Christ Hike, where our campers got to follow one big skit around camp as they saw Jesus’ life (and death, and resurrection) unfold before their eyes. We look forward to tomorrow with bitter-sweetness as we say goodbye to our Seeds campers!
EXPLODING Into the New Day
EXPLODING Into the New Day
Mmmm hmm, we can still tastes the delicious french toast sticks we had for breakfast this morning! While it’s hard to forget french toast, it was easy to remember our Bible verse of the day thanks to the amazing skit performed at chapel by our counselors. However, we couldn’t stay inside for long because today, at Wapo, it is a BEAUTIFUL and SHINING day to be outside. To mirror the nice weather, campers painted flower pots and planted sunflower seeds to symbolize the peace God plants in us. And though we played EXPLODING Enchiladas earlier on the soccer field, we are having ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch. We are looking extremely forward to beach bash, slip n’ slide, and many more camp activities…STAY TUNED!
A Wapo-tastic Day!
A Wapo-tastic Day!
What a beautiful and humid day to start our third Seeds weekend! With the sun shinning down on us, campers and counselors were able to bask in the glory of God’s creation during Bible study. Campers were able to TAKE HOLD of the promise that God gives each of them in today’s Bible verse (also our theme!) John 16:33. After Bible study and din din, campers watched their counselors in skits where they performed as life guards, movie directors, acrobats, bean chefs, etc. Not only did we traverse the Bible, we journeyed across the vast ocean of the Soccer Field, playing Ships Across the Ocean. And if fish and sharks wasn’t already amazing, we finished off the night with campfire and S’MORES. We look forward to s’more fun tomorrow!
What a Wonderful Thursday
We just cannot believe Thursday is already over!
This afternoon was full of all sorts of activities like a basketball tournament, air-square, kayaking, swim time, and tie dye at the art shop. After a fun afternoon we headed back early to our cabins to get ready for our Luau Rug themed Banquet. We had a scrumptious dinner of lasagna served by our counselors and then headed to Masterpiece Theater. We ended our last evening together with campfire and our foot washing devotion as cabins.
Goodnight from camp and we can’t wait to see you all tomorrow!
