When We Play Together, We Pray Together
Happy Friday!
We love to pack of fun into our last day of camp… and it starts with breakfast in bed. After first word and cabin clean up time, we ended our week just like we started it with a Camp Wapo classic: Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge. Today in bible study we read from John 21 1-14. This is the story where Simon Peter and the disciples went fishing but caught nothing all night long. Then Jesus appears and tells them to try one more time and they catch so much that they can’t pull the night up. We remind our campers that Jesus loves them more than they can even comprehend. This love will give them the strength to be good friends to themselves, and good friends to others.

Welcome to Camp Wapo
Welcome to camp!!
We are so excited for this new week of campers and all of the fun that will be had this week. Campers moved into their bunks for the week and met their counselors!! We also enjoyed beginning to meet our new friends. Then, we headed off to a delicious dinner of chicken sandwiches with veggies and chips. After that, cabins moved into bible study time. We discussed the importance of listening for God in the world. This was tied into the need for us to take time in our busy days to find calmness and rest. Next, our campers moved into meeting the entire staff and hearing the important traditions of Camp Wapo. From there, our Betas went into a cabin activity and the alpha campers moved into canteen time. Then, they flipped what they were doing before heading to campfire. We started our campfire outside, but moved into the chapel when weather became an issue. We enjoyed some very energetic songs, a skit, and a speaker. When that was all said and done, we all transitioned into our devotions to God. Finally, campers got ready for bed and for a big day tomorrow.
