We had quite a busy first full day here at camp. The first thing following lunch was the swim test. Our first group that went was the Easter group and then the Wapo campers followed after. It was unfortunately a very chilly day for the swim test, but our campers were strong and tough through it. We then moved into free time where campers have the ability to choose their own activities around camp. This includes nine square, air square, gaga, art shop, the beach, and many other activities. After this, campers move right into dinner. Tonight we had chicken alfredo and garlic bread. Following dinner, our cabins went into cabin challenge. Counselors typically lead a cabin in an activity that encourages team building and communication. The next event for our campers was the scavenger hunt. In this activity, campers are split up by their age groups so we have two scavenger hunts going on. Cabins travel throughout camp to find various activities and clues that lead them to the next area. We all then moved into Monday Night Live. This is a skit extravaganza that showcases campers and counselors. Our campers were in two skits called Candy Shop and American Idol. Right after this, our campers headed into canteen and then off to campfire. Each night concluded with devotions and then bedtime. See y’all tomorrow.
