Today’s activities have been off to a toasty start here at Camp Wapo!
Campers were given the option to sleep in today since we all had a later night than usual. This meant that campers could start their day off with an optional free time period or get some extra rest. The optional free time allowed campers to participate in 9-square, gaga, air square, or bracelet making at the art shop. Sprouts headed to first word and then over to Commons for brunch, while Vines and Branches had some more free time. After everyone ate their brunch, we all headed up to chapel to worship. The energy was very high and the kids had a blast singing and dancing. From chapel, we transitioned into bible study. Today’s theme word in remix. In this bible study we look at three verses. The verses we discuss are 1st Corinthians 15:41, Matthew 5:13-16, and 1st Peter 3:15. These verses ask us to look at ourselves in a new light as we are all unique and gifts created by God. Each of us adds a newness to the world and our perspectives bring ongoing beauty to the world.
Next, Sprouts went to Commons field to play giant spoons and VIP. Vines, Branches, and Roots headed to play Hula Launchers on the soccer field. Halfway through, the varying age groups swapped fields. We made sure that campers were taking breaks and drinking water. We are off to free time now!
