Shello from the Beach

It was a great day of GIFT camp full of fun and faith! We started out our morning with some delicious egg bake and muffins for breakfast. Then, we had some chapel worship time in commons. We sang songs like “Radical God” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

We stayed inside for bible study since it was still a little bit drizzly. For our bible study the theme was “Love Always” and we read the story of Lydia. She was an ordinary person who experienced God’s love in her life in extraordinary ways! Then, the adults enjoyed some scones and the kids enjoyed some granola bars as a snack. Delish!

Beach time was a blast! The weather really cleared up and turned into such a beautiful day! So many found tons of pretty shells! There was also fun on the UFO, jumping off the floating raft, and going paddleboarding. Additionally, groups went out on the pontoon. It was so special to see camp from a new perspective!

Before lunch, we sang the Batman grace. We enjoyed some pulled pork sandwiches and mac and cheese. Then, families took some quiet chill time to rest up for even more fun in the afternoon.

In the afternoon, the art shop was open for all kinds of fun! Bracelets were made, crosses were painted, and coloring sheets were completed. The canteen also opened later on and grandparents and kiddos enjoyed treats and browsed the Wapo Shoppo. Some even found new stuffed animal companions!

There was one more beach time before dinner. The shell collecting continued as did some fun jumps off the raft. So many brave kiddos loved the high jump! After a delicious supper of orange chicken, we settled in for some trivia. Questions about Disney, animals, science, and history kept us all on our toes. All the teams had so much fun getting a little competitive together!

Of course, we all came together for campfire worship then. The sunset on the lake was gorgeous tonight! We sang songs like “Gospel Light” and “Light the Fire.” Then, we went back to commons to eat some s’mores! What a great end to a gorgeous day!
