Ready for a Sweet Week

It was a great first day of camp here at Wapo! This summer our theme is ALWAYS! During bible study our campers dove into our theme of the day, “Rejoice Always,” through reading Philippians 4:4-6.

After a dinner and bible study, campers gathered around to listen to staff introductions and camp traditions. We also introduced them to Wapo Olympics, which will be happening throughout the week. Cabins will have different challenges including relays, cleanest cabin, finding the Wapo medallion, and discovering who on staff is the “mole” secretly doing silly things at camp. Each cabin has their own flag to show their team spirit!

Before campfire, campers got to have some canteen time. Slushies and kempswiches helped campers cool off. Sweet treats ALWAYS make us smile at camp! Campers also had some cabin time to start getting to know each other. Some cabins used this time to play games like carpet ball, airsquare, and gaga.

At campfire tonight we could all see the moon and some beautiful pink clouds over the lake! It was a gorgeous view while we worshiped by singing some fun songs! What a great start to the week!

We rounded out our days with devotions (devos for short) in our cabins. Now campers are all tucked in to get some great sleep before our first full day of camp tomorrow!
