Nailed It

We’re so thankful for an amazing Thursday of camp! Our morning started out with some delicious breakfast sandwiches – definitely a camp favorite. Then, we headed up to the chapel for some morning worship all together.

Our bible study theme for the day was “Give Thanks Always.” Cabins talked about how sometimes it’s hard to remember to be thankful. We also prayed a special prayer to help us remember to thank God for a variety of different things!

For field games today we had fun playing Medic and Wapo Quaffle. In Medic, we had four teams that each had one person as the “medic” who could revive their teammates who got out. Wapo Quaffle is an original game inspired by Quidditch. There is even a golden snitch who runs around!

All afternoon we had such a great time! Lots of campers started their free time by making creative tie dye creations. We also enjoyed the waterfront, playing gaga, nine square, airsquare, and a basketball tournament!

Then we all dressed up for our fun barn-dance-themed banquet meal. (Enjoy the cabin photos on Bunk1!) Our special meal of chicken kiev, mashed potatoes, and corn was scrumptious.

After that, we had the Wapo County Fair. This time is full of all kinds of fun stations that campers can pick and choose from. They included shaving cream hair, karaoke, hair tinsel, face paint, and nail painting. Making it a fun time for all the campers? We nailed it!

Once the fair was wrapping up, we had some canteen time. We also got to watch the champions of the basketball tournament play the Wapo Counselor All Star team. It was a great game!

We gathered down at the campfire for one last night of worship songs. By request of the campers, we sang “Always,” “Radical God,” “Days of Elijah,” and “All The Stars.” Then, we walked up to do a specialty light worship. Campers watched a shadow show of scenes from the bible play out. It was truly special!

Cabins shared in one last meaningful devo time before bed. We are sad to see the last full day of our week at camp come to a close! It’s been a great one!
