Our Bible story this morning featured Joseph and his famous “dreamcoat”, but raincoats were much more popular at Camp Wapo this evening!

Unfortunately, we had to change our evening plans due to some light mist. Normally, we play the classic camp game of Mighty Mighty; instead the campers had the opportunity to enjoy some fun Cabin Time to wait out the rain. The campers had some coloring sheets and other fun activities to do. Directly following Cabin Time, we munched on yummy chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. We then followed dinner with our specialty worship that we have titled “Walk-&-Wonder”.

Similar to drama worships in previous years of SEEDS camp, this year’s “Walk-&-Wonder” featured Bible scenes acted out by counselors. The actors and campers travelled around Camp Wapo to watch Christ’s story unfold before their eyes — with some interactive activities to boot. The activities included having the counselors tie a purple string around campers’ wrists, writing cards to senior living facilities, making a prayer chain, and creating a cross out of popsicle sticks. We got a little wet during our Walk-&-Wonder, but it ended up just fine as we finished inside Crossfire Chapel.

The rest of the evening included:

  • An all-camp game called “Counselor Hunt”, which involved campers searching for hidden counselors around camp (in the outdoors, since the rain took a break!).
  • Indoor Campfire in Crossfire Chapel — which was full of energy, relationships, and wonderful songs.
  • Snack, Devos, and finally some well-earned shuteye.

It was a super busy day. We all can’t wait for tomorrow’s sunshine!
