Hooray! We Dodged The Rain!
It was a great first full day here at Camp Wapo! In the morning we were able to stay dry inside for first word, breakfast, and chapel. Then we did our bible study “Love Always” in our cabins. This bible story was about a woman named Lydia who sells purple cloth. Lydia was shown God’s love by Paul and then showed that love towards others!
We also stayed dry with an indoor field game called Mother Hen. In this game campers try to be sneaky to take the “eggs” from the Mother Hens sitting in the middle with their eyes closed. For “eggs” today we used gator balls, highlighters, and even shoes – how silly, right?!
After lunch, the weather cleared up and campers were able to take the swim test down at our waterfront! It was a bit chilly but we were still so happy to be able to be outside and enjoy the lake! Some cabins entertained themselves by singing songs like Baby Shark while waiting for their turn to swim.
During free time some campers took the time to brush up on bracelet patterns and buy some Bubblr! Others played many lively games of gaga and airsquare! Then cabins did challenges like tens, lava boards, or even a cabin gaga tournament.
After dinner we played an all-camp game called Chip Noodle. Campers run around camp to find counselors hiding with different colored chips and try to avoid getting tagged with pool noodles. If they do, a counselor wearing a life vest will give them a funny task to get back in the game! Then we gathered around for Monday Night Live, a series of skits put on by a combination of campers and counselors. It certainly gave us quite a laugh!
As ALWAYS we rounded out our night with campfire. We were blessed with another gorgeous sunset view. We sang and danced our hearts out and are now headed to bed after devos with our cabins. We’re so happy we were able to dodge the rain and have an amazing camp day!
