Happy Campers
We had a wonderful Wednesday at Camp Wapo! This morning we fueled up for chapel with some french toast. The worship songs and skit prepared us for today’s bible study: “Forgive Always.” We read the story of Joseph forgiving his brother and talked about how even though forgiveness is hard, it is always the right choice.
Our field games this morning were Snoodles and Gladiator. For Snoodles, campers play in four teams and have flags that can be pulled as they try to acquire the different colored pool noodles. In Gladiator, campers play in pairs of a shield and a gladiator, trying not to get hit by balls thrown by other gladiators.
After lunch, we had so much fun with free time! There was a tournament for gaga and nine square. It certainly is a lively competition! There was also beading at the art shop, swimming at the beach, paddleboarding at the waterfront, and snacks at the canteen. Some campers also spent their time hunting for the Wapo Medallions.
Our evening activity tonight was Beach Bash. We gathered at the waterfront for a time of fun and fellowship! Of course we enjoyed swimming but there were so many other activities as well! There was face paint, tug-of-war, yard games, and rock-paper-scissors-splash. Campers also got to compete in a sandcastle competition and a belly flop competition (winners got to pie a counselor)!
There was some sprinkling rain later in the night so we opted to have our campfire in the chapel space. We sang worship songs like “Glorious Day” and “Nothing I Hold Onto.” Then, we had devos in our cabins and it was off to bed for these happy campers! We can’t wait for tomorrow!
