Hanging With Our Families

It was a great last full day of GIFT camp! We started our morning out with some delicious breakfast sandwiches. It was a 10/10 breakfast! This got us energized for some worship time in the chapel. Then, we broke into our age groups for bible study. Our theme was “Give Thanks Always” and we read the story of Elijah and the widow. Our youngest kiddos enjoyed spotting Squiggles in the spark story bible; our adults dove into deep conversations with stories from their lives.

Then, we gathered on the field for Wapo Olympics. We did fun relays with gator balls, silly costumes, and ping pong balls on spoons. After that, some of us stayed on the field for a lively match of soccer!

After lunch and some quiet time, we hung out at the art shop. There was lots of painting and card making today! Additionally, there were pipe cleaner crafts, coloring pages, and of course bracelets. We made sure to get some sweet treats at the canteen before heading down for some beach time. There was canoeing, swimming, sandcastles, volleyball, and so much fun to be had!

The beach fun continued after dinner with beach bash! We got to build some neat sandcastles, play in the water, get our faces painted, and play yard games. At the end, each family got to send someone up to pie a counselor in the face! Then, we showered off and got ready for a lovely campfire to end the day. We can’t believe this week is coming to a close – it’s been so great hanging with our families!
