Dancing Out of the Week

We can’t believe the week is coming to a close! Our last day at camp began with breakfast in our cabins. For our bible study today the theme was “With You Always.” The scripture we read came from The Great Commission – Jesus’ parting words to his disciples. Cabins talked about how they can go forward and spread God’s love. The passage also reminds us that God is ALWAYS with us!

The fields were a little wet from the rain, so we got moving inside the chapel this morning! Our Vines and Branches campers played Just Dance. Our Sprouts campers played Mother Hen and Extreme Pictionary. For Mother Hen, one person is the “Mother Hen” and tries to listen to others trying to steal her eggs represented by random items and point at them to get them out. For Extreme Pictionary, each cabin had to go find the person holding the red binder for each new item to draw!

After lunch, our families got to join us down at the campfire for a brief closing worship. It was great to share some of our favorite songs from the week like “Radical God” and “Always” with our loved ones. Dancing and singing is ALWAYS the best way to end our week!

What a great week at camp it has been! We’ve experienced God’s love in so many ways: making new friends, dancing at the campfire, playing and praying together at field games, getting to know our awesome counselors, and for our fishing campers – catching a lot of fish on Thursday! We’re so glad this great group of campers got to join us here at Camp Wapo this week! See you all next summer!
