Tie Dye and Tournaments
It was a terrific Thursday full of tie dye and tournaments! We started our morning with the most delicious breakfast sandwiches. This gave us the energy for our super fun chapel worship. We sang songs like “Everlasting Love” and watched a skit about having a thankful heart.
For bible study, our theme was “Give Thanks Always.” We read the story of Elijah and the widow. We talked about what it would be like to be in their shoes and how it can be difficult to trust God. In the end, we know it is important to learn to give thanks in all circumstances!
Today’s field games were Wapo Quaffle and Four-Way Medic. Wapo Quaffle is inspired by Ultimate Frisbee and Quidditch. Medic is a dodgeball game played with four teams, each having one player as the “medic” with power to revive their teammates.
Free time a great time to get crafty with tie dye at the art shop. Other campers enjoyed swimming at the beach, getting sweet treats from the canteen, and playing gaga ball. There is ALWAYS so much fun to be had!
Free time was also tournament time! Many campers enjoyed our airsquare tournament in the first half of free time. This is a brand new treat to camp by popular demand! In the second half, we had the basketball tournament. The winning team went on to face the Wapo All Star team of counselors.
Our dinner tonight was a barn-dance-themed banquet. Campers dressed up and enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken kiev. After that, it was time for the Wapo County Fair. Campers could get shaving cream in their hair, sing karaoke, get their nails painted, get their hair washed or braided, and so many more fun activities.
At dusk we had a beautiful last campfire down by the lake. Then, we gathered up by Crossfire for specialty worship. We watched a shadow play of stories from creation to Jesus’ life. This, followed by devos, was a great faith filled end to our last night together.
