Friendship Is Sweet

We had a very sweet start to our week here at Camp Wapo! Our theme for the summer is ALWAYS! We’ll be exploring this theme through bible studies each day. Our bible study today was “Rejoice Always” and came from the scripture of Philippians 4:4-6. We talked about how we can celebrate the goodness of God all the time!

After dinner and bible study, we gathered up to listen to our camp traditions and some staff introductions. We also got to hear about the Wapo Olympics, which will be happening throughout the week. The Wapo Olympics will include a search for the Wapo Medallions, battling to win the Golden Plunger for having the cleanest cabin, and more fun challenges for cabins!

Then, it was time for canteen. A sweet treat ALWAYS marks the start of a great week! We were glad to enjoy them with our friends. It’s so sweet to see friendships begin to blossom between campers! It’s apple-solutely amazing!

We ended our night down at the campfire. We sang worship songs like “Radical God” and our theme song of the summer “Always.” Then to end our night, we did devotions (or devos for short) in our cabins. That is a time where cabins can truly grow in their relationships with each other and with God. What a great end to a fun and faith-filled day! We can’t wait for tomorrow!
