Olympic Fun

It was such an eventful Tuesday here at Camp Wapo! We started our day out with some chicken and waffles for breakfast. It was great fuel for a fun morning worship in the chapel. We sang songs like “All The Stars” (our theme song from last summer), “I Thank God,” and “Undignified.” Singing worship music with our friends is ALWAYS a great start to our day!

Our bible study today was “Pray Always.” We read the Lord’s Prayer and talked about different ways we can pray and things we can pray for. It definitely led to some great discussions in cabins! After bible study, there was some lingering morning rain so we opted for a fun indoor activity. We gathered in the chapel to watch the Olympics together! It was so fun to see the highlights together.

In the afternoon, it got nice and hot and sunny outside for free time. This meant it was a great day to cool off with a sweet treat from the canteen! Campers enjoyed playing in the gaga tournament, watercoloring at the art shop, playing carpet ball, swimming, playing airsquare, paddle boarding, kayaking, and slip and sliding.

Then, before our Taco Tuesday dinner, we got to do the Pink Cow Grace. It was a fun twist on the Brown Cow Grace that is a camper favorite. Then, it was time for the Wapo Olympics Relays! Campers raced to pass a gator ball, run with costumes on, and complete an egg-and-spoon race. Then, we had a special worship session with Lutheran rapper, Agape, up in the chapel. We even had some campers get up onstage and groove with him! What a great time!

Of course, we ended our night with campfire worship. Sitting by the lake around the fire is such a great feeling. We wound down from our crazy-fun day with devos in our cabins. It’s such a great time for cabins to grow in faith together. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
