Mighty Monday

It was a great first full day of Camp Wapo! We started our morning off with some egg bake to fuel us up for chapel. There, we sang worship songs like “I Thank God” and “Always.” Our theme song got us ready for our bible study theme “Love Always.” Today we read the story of Lydia. She was shown God’s love by Paul and then shared that love with others – even baptizing her whole household!

For field games this morning we played Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge! This has been a camp classic for years. Two teams compete to move items like gator balls, frisbees, and pool noodles over to their side. If you are tagged, you sit down until one of your teammates comes to get you to skip to safety. Mighty Mighty is ALWAYS so much fun!

After lunch, we had our swim tests. The water was definitely refreshing on such a warm day! When swim tests finally wrapped up, there was just enough time for some of our favorite free time activities. Campers played gaga, carpetball, and airsquare, enjoyed making bracelets, and stayed cool with kempswiches from the canteen. We’ve been sure to stay hydrated with lots of water too!

Later on in the evening, we enjoyed an all camp game: Chip Noodle! Campers run all around camp to find counselors hiding with various colors of chips. One was even hiding on a cabin roof! While they run, they are careful not to be tagged by counselors with pool noodles. If they do, they wait until a counselor in a life vest gives them a task to get back in the game.

Before our evening worship, we had some fun with “Monday Monday Monday Night Live” skits featuring both campers and counselors. But then we got to head down to the campfire for worship! We were excited to be outside today. It was a great end to our day all together. Then, cabins did devos together and headed to bed. We can’t wait for another great day tomorrow!
