Muddy Butts, Don’t Care

Today at camp, our morning started with a delicious breakfast of chicken and waffles! As we do after every meal, some campers have a “kitchen party” to play a part in cleaning up. Breakfast fueled us up for a chapel full of songs and a silly skit to introduce our bible study theme: “Pray Always.” Campers read the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:5-15 and discussed the importance of prayer in their lives with their cabins.

Even though the fields are still a little damp, we were happy to be outside to play Exploding Enchiladas and Snoodles. We might have muddy butts but we’re having too much fun to mind! Campers definitely worked up an appetite for the chicken flatbread we ate at lunch. They loved it!

After lunch, it was free time! The wind kept us cool at the beach and campers enjoyed jumping and splashing in the waves. At the art shop, campers enjoyed painting, making bracelets, and eating treats from the canteen. Gaga and airsquare were also popular choices this afternoon.

Then for dinner of course we ALWAYS have to eat tacos on Taco Tuesday! After dinner, we competed in the relay portion of Wapo Olympics. We filled water cups and spun around pool noodles. What fun! Throughout the week, we have also been awarding the Golden Plunger to the cleanest cabin as part of the Wapo Olympics. Stay tuned for the winner to be announced on Thursday!

The fun continued when we had Lutheran rapper “Agape” come and sing and dance with us in the chapel! Some campers even went onstage with him as we danced! After that we stayed indoors to have some canteen time. Laffy taffys and giggly campers were found all throughout the halls!

We also had a lovely indoor campfire. We were able to stay safe and dry inside while God put on a little light show outside! The campers had a lot of extra energy so we did a couple extra fast songs before we wound down with some slower ones to wrap up our night. Campers are now getting their rest post-devos. We can’t wait for Wednesday!
