DESCRIPTION:Our speaker for this Sunday is Pastor Connie Tiede. \n  \nGreetings! I am Pastor Connie Tiede and I currently serve as Pastor for Welcome\, Worship and Mission at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka.  I look forward to spending a Sunday at Camp Wapo\, a place that has been very important to my family.  My mother and aunt remember going to Camp Wapo when they were younger\, I have spent many a week there with my church youth and my children attended camp and worked at Camp Wapo. \nI am married to Mark\, who is also a pastor at St. John’s Lutheran in S. DESCRIPTION:We are incredibly grateful for the donors and volunteers who have faithfully supported Camp Wapo\, Ox Lake and Wilderness Canoe Base\, especially through this pandemic time.  We simply could not have sustained this ministry without you.  Your gifts helped us through a complete closure and cancellation of all programs and retreats for a full year.  Your gifts helped us prepare for a much anticipated and long-awaited for 2021 summer camp season.  Your gifts are supporting an incredible summer staff at Wapo\, Ox and Wilderness – these young adults are outstanding!  Your gifts have brought CAMPERS\,  laughter\, praising\, singing\, field games\, paddling\, campfires\, and so much more back to our sites. \nIt’s time to gather and celebrate!  We hope you can join us for this special THANK YOU event.  The event will be held at Camp Wapo to honor all of our Wapo\, Ox Lake and Wilderness Canoe Base donors and volunteers.  You are welcome to come anytime between 10:00 and 2:00 for an open house.  We will offer tours of camp and you can get a sneak peek at the building project at Wapo.  Building during covid has presented its share of challenges that have slowed progress significantly (supplies\, workforce\, delivery delays\, etc.)\, but you’ll still get a good idea of what the finished project will look like. \nA picnic lunch will be served between 11:00am-1:00pm.   Bring your family and friends! \nTo help us plan for food\, please RSVP by August 3rd.

He is an alumna of Luther College (Decorah\, IA)\, and went on to earn a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus\, OH).  While in college Ron worked spent four summers working for Crossways Camping Ministries – Imago Dei Village (Clintonville\, WI) as a camp counselor and program staff.  While working at camp he met his wife\, Amity. DESCRIPTION:Our speaker for this Sunday is Pastor Paul Harrington. \nPastor Paul drew up in Ferguson\, MO\, attended the former Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis and graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead\, MN\, and spent the next five years at Luther Seminary in St Paul\, MN where he earned a Master in Divinity degree and Master of Theology degree. \nPastor Paul’s first parish was in Pontiac\, MI\, a suburb of Detroit\, where he served for almost 9 years.  In 1980 the Harringtons moved to Apple Valley\, MN to develop a new mission congregation in northern Dakota County which was then poised for a time of almost explosive growth.  For the next 27 years Pastor Paul served as senior pastor overseeing a congregation (Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church) that experienced 5 separate building programs including three different sanctuaries.  Following his retirement\, Paul served for 3 years as interim campus pastor at Luther Seminary.  In addition he has served on the Boards of Gustavus Adolphus College\, Mt Carmel Ministries\, the Metro Lutheran newspaper\, and the Crossways International Bible study series.  Pastor Paul and his wife Margaret have three married children and 11 grandchildren.  Margaret spent half of her career working at a preschool in south Minneapolis with children that were high risk for abuse and neglect.  The second half of her career was spent developing the SOTVLC Celebrating Children Preschool. \n“Unity in the Body of Christ”.  Ephesians 4:1-16 \nCome by boat or come by car – You are invited for worship at 9:20am!  Coffee\, treats and water are served.  You can bring your own chair or benches are provided. \nWe are committed to the safety of our campers\, guests\, volunteers and staff.  When Boat-in worship is indoors or outdoors\, it is not necessary for fully vaccinated individuals to wear a mask.  We encourage all unvaccinated individuals to continue to wear masks for the protection of kids under 12 and those who are unable to be vaccinated. \n

DESCRIPTION:Let’s kick off summer together with a super special Memorial Day Breakfast at Camp Wapo.  This year’s breakfast includes: \n\nScrumptious Ham & Cheese Eggbake\nFamous Wapo Scones\nFresh Fruit Cup\nOrange Juice & Coffee\n\nBreakfast will be served grab-and-go style. If the weather permits\, you can enjoy a picnic breakfast here at camp. In the case of rain\, you’ll have what you need to enjoy your breakfast at home. \nThis year’s event supports 2021 summer camp & scholarships for kids who need financial help to attend camp.  After last year\, kids need camp now more than ever! Your support will help make that happen. \nWe will be accepting a freewill donation for the Memorial Day Breakfast at Wapo.  Cash\, check\, or credit cards are accepted.  Come get your breakfast anytime between 8:00am – 12:00pm.  No RSVP needed! \nPS – For those of you who are wondering about the pancakes…don’t worry!  Our famous Pancake Extravaganza will be back when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and we can safely gather people together again under one roof.

Having been raised in WI (near Milwaukee) she is excited to be dwelling in the land that feels like home\, again. DESCRIPTION:The Cross Fire Center at Camp Wapo is the perfect place for quilters to create beautiful masterpieces. We guarantee good fun\, quality quilting time\, lots of laughs\, and the opportunity to learn from each other. Grab a crafty friend\, sister\, or mom and you’ll be sure to have a blast! Bring your machine\, lots of projects\, and sewing gear. Camp will provide comfortable accommodations\, meals cooked with care\, quilting tables\, ironing boards\, and cutting tables. \nDue to our continued Covid-19 protocols we will need to reduce our capacity for our quilt retreat.    We are hoping that the situation will continue to improve and we are hoping to be able to add additional spaces for our fall retreat but will re-evaluate at the end of the summer and make a final decision then.  If the event is full please join the waitlist and you will be contacted as space opens up.  Please contact Ryan Braaten with any questions

DESCRIPTION:It’s been almost a year since we gathered IN PERSON for our Annual Delegate Meeting at Roseville Lutheran. It is hard to believe it was just a year ago – my how things have changed. \nWhile we can’t gather in person this year\, we can gather online.  Even after an unpredictable year of cancellations\, postponements\, and altered events we have so much to celebrate. \nAnyone can attend the LWLBC delegate annual meeting but only congregational delegates have voting rights to elect new members to the LWLBC Board of Directors. \nIf you would like to attend the LWLBC Annual Delegate meeting\, please email jenh@campwapo.org. The meeting is only available via pre-registration.
